Freemason and Founding Father
Immensely entertaining and thought provoking, we post these videos to encourage our viewers to reflect on the Historic contributions Masonry had on the Founding of the United States. All of the Liberty and Freedom we enjoy today are direct results of the influences of our Masonic Founding Fathers. We hope these will inspire you to continue your Masonic search, and motivate you to begin your Masonic Journey.
Benjamin Franklin was a very active and devoted Freemason. Initiated into Masonry in 1731, at St. John’s Lodge in Philadelphia, Franklin rose through the ranks quite quickly, being elected Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania in 1735.
His contributions to the formation of the United States and to Freemasonry are unmatched. During his life he became a member of several European Lodges. He was not only a Founder of the United States, but also of American Freemasonry as well. It’s nearly impossible not to draw parallels between Masonic ideas and the way Bro. Franklin lived, and the great Country he helped create.
1760, he was elected a Provincial Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of England and was officially entered into the minutes at their November 1760 meeting in London.
In 1777 he became a member of the “Loge des Neuf Soeurs” (Lodge of 9 Sisters) of Paris, where he helped initiate the famous French philosopher Voltaire. He also met many famous and influential European Freemasons through this particular lodge. In a serendipitous turn of fate he met members of the Prussian military and nobility, who helped connect George Washington and King Frederick the Great, who in turn supported the American Revolution financially and militarily.
He is remembered for his whole life of service and unmatchable genius. Franklin lived to be eighty-five years old. Sixty of those years he was a Freemason; he lived and wrote and practiced the principles of the Order. He was Freemason intensely interested in his Craft. He left an enduring influence on its history in America.
We are honored that we may call this incredibly influential Founding Father “Brother.”

For your further enlightenment, we hope you have found these videos inspirational. Understand that Masonry has been a part of the fabric of America since it’s founding, and through the knowledge and enlightenment it brought, we are blessed with the greatest Country in the World.
